Project Overview
The Village of Tinley Park identified increasing water pressure inconsistencies in its expanding western area, threatening multi-story buildings, essential services, and firefighting capabilities. A five-year water flow model confirmed the deficiencies were significant and unsustainable, prompting immediate action. In response, the Village advanced a targeted solution: a new dedicated pressure zone supported by the construction of the Post 21 Booster Station to stabilize and improve water distribution.
Metropolitan Industries led the design and fabrication of the booster station, delivering a fully integrated system featuring four vertical split case pumps, variable frequency drives, SCADA controls, and backup power generation. Built with redundancy in mind, the system includes separate low- and high-service pump sets to handle both daily demand and emergency scenarios.
Following coordinated installation and rigorous testing, the system was brought online with a gradual increase in pressure to minimize risk to existing infrastructure. The project was supported through municipal funding and executed with strong collaboration among all stakeholders. The completed Post 21 Booster Station now delivers improved water pressure, enhanced fire protection, and long-term operational efficiency for Tinley Park’s west side, marking a significant advancement in the Village’s infrastructure and service reliability.
