Job Summary:
Metropolitan Industries, Inc. is a multiple market sales, service, and manufacturing organization in the water & wastewater and Commercial plumbing & mechanical markets both locally and on a national basis. As a PCB and Mechanical Assembly Technician you will be responsible for soldering printed circuit boards and assembling various mechanical components to complete finished products.
Duties/Job Responsibilities:
- Operation and set-up of a pick and place machine for printed circuit boards
- Hand placement and soldering of through-hole components
- Assembling circuit boards with enclosures and mechanical components using hand and power tools
- Inspection and testing of finished products
- Assist engineers with building prototypes and test fixtures
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient at soldering and use of simple hand tools
- Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams
- Basic circuit analysis and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to identify electronic components
- Computer knowledge and basic math skills

- 1+ years of experience with the following:
- Hand placement and soldering of through-hole and SMD components
- Mechanical assembly using hand and power tools
- Visual inspection and testing of finished products
- Experience with the following is a plus (not required):
- Pick and place machine operation and set-up
- Reflow oven operation and set-up
- Solder paste stencil printer set-up and application
